  • Description: Our company was engaged to renovate a space for a new shoe repair/polishing center at Penn Station one of New York City’s busiest transportation hubs. We designed a highly efficient chilled water and boiler water HVAC system featuring sleek linear diffusers to create a modern aesthetic while ensuring optimal cooling/heating and airflow performance. Plumbing plans were designed for the new fixtures. Existing sprinkler system was modified to suit new layout in accordance with all NFPA13 sprinkler regulations and NYC Building Code requirements. On the electrical side we circuited new equipment to a new panel and designed a 480V/208V transformer system to provide a 120V/208V/3ph system to handle the voltage requirements of the space. Thorough load calculations were performed to confirm adequacy of existing feeders. Navigating the stringent MTA requirements above and beyond the typical NYC Building Code and NFPA requirements our proactive compliance strategy secured swift approvals and ensured a quick construction process.
